Pima Utility Rate Increase
Communities Unite to Oppose Proposed Pima Utilty Rate Increase
Cottonwood - Palo Verde, Ironwood, and Sun Lakes Country Club have officially entered into a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together in addressing the significant utility rate increases proposed by
Pima Utility Company (JW Water).
This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to protecting the interests of homeowners and ensuring that any proposed rate increases are fair, transparent, and appropriately justified.
Recently, the Board President and General Manager from all three communities met to discuss strategies for responding to the proposed rate increases. As part of these efforts, the communities have identified, interviewed, and retained an attorney with extensive experience in utility rate cases who can provide guidance throughout the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) review process.
Homeowner Participation Matters
The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) accepts public comments from customers affected by proposed rate changes. Every comment becomes part of the official record and helps Commissioners understand how these increases may impact residents.
We encourage all homeowners to submit comments through the ACC's online portal by clicking here:

When submitting your comments, please note the following:
- Utility Company: Pima Utility Company (not JW Water)
- Water Rate Increase eDocket: W-02199A-25-0269

Thoughtful, respectful comments describing how these proposed increases would affect you and your household can help ensure the Commission fully considers the community's perspective.
The Boards of Cottonwood - Palo Verde, Ironwood, and Sun Lakes Country Club will continue working together, sharing information and costs, and keeping residents informed as this process moves forward. We appreciate your support and participation as we advocate for the best interests of our communities.
