Golf Course Rules and Dress CodeNo hard spikes allowed on Cottonwood and Palo Verde Golf Courses. Soft spikes, spikeless, tennis shoes or rubber soled shoes only. Golfers are asked to use the 90 degree rule when carts are allowed on the course. Two carts per threesome or foursome. Homeowner-owned gas carts are not allowed on Cottonwood or Palo Verde Golf Courses. All carts must be driven by a licensed driver. Golf carts are limited to 2 persons and 2 golf bags. Please remove all unused carts from the assigned cart spaces. Move them to an empty cart space in the parking lot. No golf carts may be left on any part of the golf course at any time. If a Phase II homeowner's golf cart breaks down during a round of golf, the golf shop will provide a cart at no charge to finish the round, (if carts are available). Golfers under the age of 16 must have prior approval from the Golf Pro. Please keep the golf carts 50 feet from the greens. This is usually marked with a red line or cart signs. DO NOT drive around the green on opposite side of the cart path. When not allowed to drive to your ball, always take extra clubs when hitting your second shot. (this is important when your ball is on the far side of the fairway.) On your approach shots, take your putter with you. Play ready golf. Hitting in turn is not always proper. Time is wasted and hitting in sequence is not always necessary. Be ready for your shot. On the green, PUTT OUT, rather than mark, when possible. Please do not drop the flagstick. Lay it down gently. Retrieving your ball from a water hazard - You may retrieve your own ball only from a water hazard if it is easily accessible and you do not hold up play. Lost Ball - 5 minutes is allowed. (If you are being pressed and the next hole is open, wave those behind you through.) Record your score and bag your clubs at the next tee. Give those behind you a chance to hit up, without endangering you. When you reach the green, fix your ball mark and one other. Line up your putt while the other players are putting out. After putting out, pick up the ball by hand. Do not use the putter head. Please replace your divots or fill with sand and seed. Sand is located at the tees and the staging area.
