SISK PARK The Roberta Sisk Park located in Unit 26 in Palo Verde opened in 1994. After many years of prodding from Sun Lakes resident Roberta Sisk, developer Robson Communities donated a two acre plot of land to the people of Sun Lakes Homeowners Association #2 and then added a ramada with rest rooms, a drinking fountain, cart pathways and landscaping. Roberta Sisk served on the Board of Directors of SLHOA#2 from 1990 to 1993 during which time she suggested to the Board and the Developer that a park was needed for the community. After Robson Communities decided to donate the land for the park, the SLHOA#2 Board of Directors voted to name the park for Roberta which was a surprise to her as she was absent from the meeting when the vote was presented. Soon after, the Board of Directors approved the addition of park furniture, charcoal grills, bocce ball courts, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, a putting green area and a large grassy area for volleyball and croquet.
