COTTONWOOD LADIES BRIDGE CLUB

The Cottonwood Ladies Bridge Club was established in the fall of 1981 under the guidance of Donna Skiles.  It started with three tables playing in the Cottonwood Restaurant which was where the San Tan Ballroom is today.  By spring there were 25 members.  Six rounds of 6 hands each is played.  A lunch is served between the 4th and 5th rounds.  Two of the original members are still playing today.  They are Beezie Kennedy and Jody Heiman.  At one time there were over 250 members but not all played at the same time.  On special party days such as St. Patrick’s Day or Halloween there would be as many as 45 tables.  For several years a “Spring Fling” was held where the husbands would join us for dinner, dancing and games.

The number one rule of the club is to have a good time, enjoy your partner and let her enjoy playing with you.

The club was originally made up of ladies living in Cottonwood Country Club .  It is now open to all Sun Lakes women.
