SUN LAKES COMMUNITY THEATRE Sun Lakes Community Theatre was started in the early 1980’s by a small group of talented actors who wanted to continue using their talents. It became an official club in 1988 with a donation of $500 by Robson Communities. The group performed in various locations. In the early 1990’s, thanks to renovations to the San Tan Ballroom and with the support of the CWPV homeowners , the group moved to the San Tan Ballroom where all recent productions have been held. In April 1994, the group became a legal non-profit organization. With the addition of lights, sound equipment and risers, SLCT is now able to perform for as many as 2,000 people in a five day run. Sun Lakes Community theatre provides high quality entertainment for the enjoyment of all Sun Lakes residents. SLCT produces three plays per season – in the fall, spring and summer. Currently the membership is about 130 members, most of which contribute to one of the productions each season. A party is held in April each year honoring all the volunteers who made SLCT’s season possible.
