HISTORY OF PALO VERDE LADIES GOLF ASSOCIATION

The Palo Verde Ladies Golf Association was founded in January 1985 with 50 charter members.  Edna Pitts served as the organization’s first President and served in 1985 and 1986.

PVLGA is an 18 hole club and plays every Tuesday year round.  The club has many special events with the President’s Cup and Club championship being played in February and March respectively.

Today the organization has a Board of Directors with eighteen ladies serving on its Board.  The membership has grown to 246 with 18 handicap-only members.  PVLGA celebrated its 25th anniversary in January 2010.

Any lady who is a property owner and resides in Cottonwood Palo Verde, IronOaks or Sun Lakes Country Club can be accepted for membership upon payment of the club’s dues.  Currently the dues are $65 per year.  The club promotes good sportsmanship, courtesy and fellowship in the game of golf.
